Social Studies Instructor
Jermaine Watson is currently a World History instructor with Friendship Academy. He has previously taught Human Geography, World Geography, Civics, Journey to Career and English I. Prior to working in education, Watson worked as a Project Manager with over ten years of experience in community education and governmental affairs. Watson was a registered lobbyist with the State of Louisiana in executive, legislative and local lobbying. His experience included working with community business leaders and local and statewide elected officials to facilitate goal-oriented issue resolution.
Before his career as a lobbyist, Jermaine worked at LSU for nearly five years and served as the manager of the LSU African American Cultural Center and as the Minority Recruiter for the University. While there, he created and coordinated many community and university events centered around university educational components designed to increase the learning knowledge of students across many disciplines.
Mr. Watson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Political Communications from Louisiana State University in 1999. He has matriculated through Southern University’s Public Administration program
